WHAT IT DOES

• Setup tab: both of your names, a currency symbol, the first month of your 12 months and how you split shared costs: 50/50, by income share (each partner's part of the two incomes that month) or a custom % you choose. Up to 16 shared and 12 personal categories, all renamable (starter list: Rent/Mortgage, Utilities, Groceries, Insurance, Childcare, Car, Subscriptions, Dining Out, Travel, Gifts, Pets, Other; Clothing, Personal care, Hobbies, Fun money, Health, Phone, Other personal)
• Income tab: 12 months of take-home pay for each partner plus other household income, with each partner's income share
• Transactions tab (1,000 rows): date, description, category (drop-down), amount, paid by (drop-down: Partner 1, Partner 2 or Joint account) and an optional Shared or Personal override. A Check column says OK or the first problem: pick a category, pick who paid, amount missing, date outside the 12 months
• Monthly Summary: for each month, household income, shared spending, what was paid from the joint account and by each of you, each partner's fair share, each partner's personal spending, total spending, savings and savings rate, plus a settle up sentence in plain words, for example "Sam owes Alex $125.00" or "All square"
• Budget tab: a monthly budget for each category against what you spent in the month you pick, with what is left, % used, a bar and Over or Under in colour
• Dashboard: pick a month and see the settle up, household income, shared spending, each partner's personal spending, savings and savings rate, categories over budget, up to 6 joint savings goals with progress bars, a month by month table and an income and spending chart
• The tabs are protected without a password, so formulas don't get typed over by accident (you can unprotect them any time)

PLEASE NOTE

• Settle up looks at the shared costs each of you paid yourselves. Costs paid from a joint account are already shared, so they count in your spending but not in the settle up
• Personal costs are never split: they count for the partner who paid
