Price a general pest treatment or a recurring service visit from your technician time, products, travel and overhead, plus your margin. The calculator gives the price per treatment and the price per square foot, so you can build size based pricing that covers your real costs.

What to count in a pest control price
- Technician time on site plus drive time between stops
- Product cost per treatment: the amount used, not the container price
- Fuel and vehicle costs for the route
- Licensing, insurance, equipment and software spread across your jobs as overhead
- Your margin after all costs, including callbacks you do for free
Worked example
With one person for 1.5 hours at $24 an hour, $25 in products and baits for this treatment, $12 in fuel and travel, 15% overhead and a 35% margin, the job costs $84 and the price comes to $129. That is $0.065 per square foot for 2,000 square feet of home, $45 profit, and a 53.8% markup on cost.
Margin is not markup
Margin is profit as a share of the price; markup is profit as a share of your cost. A 30% margin needs a 42.9% markup, because the profit is measured against a smaller number. Mixing the two up can leave a busy season with less money than you planned. This calculator asks for the margin you want and shows the matching markup.
The Pest Control Pricing & Job Costing workbook (C$19.00, Excel, also opens in Google Sheets) keeps your rates in one price book, builds a printable client quote, and tracks what each job really cost and made, so your next price is based on your own numbers.
Questions
HOW DO I PRICE A QUARTERLY PLAN?
Price one visit with the calculator, then multiply by the visits in the plan. If you offer free callbacks, add their expected time to the hours so the plan price covers them.
SHOULD BIGGER HOMES COST MORE?
Usually, because they take more time and product. Run the calculator for a small and a large home to set your size steps.
